UAHCI 2016, an affiliated conference of the HCI International Conference, at its 10th edition, provides an established international forum for the exchange and dissemination of scientific information on theoretical, methodological and empirical research that addresses all issues related to the attainment of universal access in the development of interactive software. It comprehensively addresses accessibility and high quality of interaction on the user interface development life-cycle in a multidisciplinary perspective. The conference solicits papers reporting results of research work on, or offering insights on open research issues and questions in the design, development, evaluation, use, and impact of user interfaces, as well as standardization, policy and other non-technological issues that facilitate and promote universal access.
The related topics include, but are not limited to, all aspects of accessibility, assistive and rehabilitation technologies, needs and requirements of diverse target user populations, design for all, alternative and augmented interaction techniques and platforms, user interface multimodality and adaptation, smart assistive environments, quality of life technologies, as well as accessible and inclusive applications and services in a variety of domains.
Recent hot trends include, for example, multi-sensory interfaces, interaction science for universal access, ludic engagement, inclusive interfaces in automotive, eye-tracking in user experience research, advances in sign language processing, design for children with cognitive disabilities, accessible voting, inclusive affective technologies, personal informatics, universal access to cultural heritage, interaction with assistive robots, and inclusive health technologies.
